HELP TOM SUPPORT
THE TUN PROJECT

The Tun Tavern is the iconic birthplace of the United States Marine Corps
as well as the the United States Navy, the Pennsylvania Freemasons,
the St. Andrew’s Society, the Society of St. George,
and the Friendly Sons & Daughters of St. Patrick.
Originally constructed in1693 along Philadelphia’s waterfront, now the Tun Tavern Legacy Foundation is set to rebuild the Tun Tavern honoring its rich history with historic architecture, materials and layout as it existed in the 1770s. The rebirthed Tun will offer a meeting place for the millions of Americans who can trace their organization’s lineage back to this one tavern.

The Tun™ is scheduled to open preceding the November 10, 2025, 250th Marine Corps birthday, coinciding with the Navy and Marine Corps 250th Homecoming Celebration in Philadelphia. While the original location of the Tun Tavern is under I-95, the new location will be approximately 250 yards from the site, in the heart of Philadelphia’s Old City District.
The mission is to rebuild and reestablish Tun Tavern as it was — a functioning mariner’s tavern reminiscent of colonial Philadelphia, serving period-influenced refreshments and food, and offering an educational experience through exhibits, historical documents, special events and entertainment.
Fund-raising is active and donations will be used to build The Tun™, Peg Mullan’s Beefsteak Club, a museum and Tun Alley. Tom is offering 50% of all net profits from sales of his first book in the Heart of a Marine Series, Doorsteps of Hell, as a donation to this project. What’s more, the offer includes a 10% discount to purchasers. Tom is also extending this offer on his second book, Fury of War, due to be released at Easter.
