Tom received the Order of St Maurice in the last quarter of 2024. The Order of Saint Maurice is awarded by the National Infantry Association and the Chief of Infantry to recognize the significant contributions made by Infantrymen, Infantry supporters, and spouses. 

 

Tom commented that he was overwhelmed with emotion:

“When I first was informed by Colonel Robert Choppa, USA (Ret), who is the President of the National Infantry Association that I had been confirmed to receive the Order of St Maurice Award, I was overwhelmed with emotion! Although I was informed last year that I was under consideration for this award, I had no idea that, as a Marine, I would qualify to receive this prestigious US Army decoration. However, miraculously it did come to fruition.
